I’m Dovie King—lawyer, author, survivor, truth-teller, not necessarily in that order. I’m the author of Survivor at Law, a memoir about trauma, power, and the quiet rebellion of reclaiming your voice. I blend my lived experience with legal critique to reveal how abuse thrives behind closed doors—and how the law becomes its cruelest accomplice. The story is honest, sharp, and unapologetically funny because sometimes you either laugh or lose your mind. I hope you enjoy the journey!
About me. I'm a graduate of Brown University and Northeastern University School of Law, and I've practiced law in California, Massachusetts, and New York. My work centers on social justice, and I've worked in academic settings, like Harvard Law.

I lived a double life—attorney on the outside, surviving abuse behind closed doors. The American Bar Association featured my story in its cover piece, "Silent Pain." This isn’t just my story. It’s a truth that the profession can’t keep ignoring.
